description

The Central Semiconductor CPR5U-040 is a 5A, 400V, Ultra Fast Recovery rectifier with a typical switching speed of 25ns and packaged in the GPR-4AM voidless glass bead axial leaded case. The device is manufactured with a high temperature (660°C) metallurgical bond and is encapsulated in solid glass for maximum protection and passivation of the silicon chip and meets or exceeds the performance characteristics of other manufacturers’ similar glass bead rectifiers, which are not readily available.

The axial leaded GPR-4AM package has a nominal body diameter of 0.15 inch (3.8mm) and a nominal lead diameter of 0.040 inch (1.0mm). In addition to the 400 Volt version, the 200V CPR5U-020 is also available and the 600V CPR5U-060 is available on special order.

The CPR5U-040 is available in bulk or 1,600 pieces on Axial Tape and Reel. Sample devices are available upon request. Central Semiconductor manufactures world class discrete semiconductors and is always eager to explore design engineers' requests for special requirements.

Specifications for this new device can be found in the New Products / Latest Updates section of Central's website at:
www.centralsemi.com/product/whatsnew/newprod/.

applications

The CPR5U-040 is ideal for commercial, industrial, entertainment, avionics, and automotive applications, and is most commonly used for ultra fast rectification in switch mode power supplies, and half and full wave bridge rectification where a highly reliable hermetically sealed device is required.
