Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of a new series of TRIACs with an extended current range. The industry standard current for TRIACs in a SOT-223 surface mount package is 1.0 Amp. Central Semiconductor now manufactures 2.0 Amp ( CQ223-2M and CQ223-2N ) and 4.0 Amp ( CQ223-4M and CQ223-4N ) devices in the SOT-223 package. The M suffix signifies a peak repetitive off-state voltage of 600 volts, while the N suffix signifies 800 volts. These devices are rated at a gate trigger current (I GT ) of 5.0mA maximum in quadrants I, II, III and 9.0mA maximum in quadrant IV. The SOT-223 package, with a profile of 1.8mm, is ideal for small electronic products requiring the functionality of a TRIAC.
These devices are available Bulk Packed or 1,000 pcs on 7" Tape & Reel. Prices for the CQ223-2M start at $0.24 each for 1,000 pcs on a 7" reel. Prices for the CQ223-4M start at $0.32 each for 1,000 pcs on a 7" reel. For pricing and availability on the CQ223-2N or CQ223-4N, contact Central's Sales Department. Samples of all devices are available upon request.
Central Semiconductor manufactures leading edge discrete semiconductors and is always eager to explore design engineers' requests or special requirements. Specifications for these new devices can be found in the New Products / Latest Updates section of Central's website at www.centralsemi.com/new.

Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of a new series of SCRs with an extended current range. The industry standard current for an SCR in a SOT-223 surface mount package is 0.8 Amps. Central Semiconductor now manufactures 2.0 Amp (CS223-2M and CS223-2N) and 4.0 Amp (CS223-4M and CS223-4N) devices in the SOT-223 package. The M suffix signifies a peak repetitive off-state voltage of 600 volts, while the N suffix signifies 800 volts. These devices are rated at a gate trigger current (I GT ) of 200µA maximum. The SOT-223 package offers a low profile of 1.8mm, which is ideal for small electronic products with limited circuit board height.
These devices are available Bulk Packed or 1,000 pcs on 7" Tape & Reel. Prices for the CS223-2M start at $0.24 each for 3,000 pcs on a 7" reel. Prices for the CS223-4M start at $0.32 each for 1,000 pcs on a 7" reel. Samples of these devices are available upon request. For pricing and availability on the CS223-2N or CS223-4N, contact Central's Sales Department.

Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of three new EED™ (Energy Efficient Device) low leakage diodes. The CMDSH2-4L, CMOSH2-4L and CMUSH2-4L all consist of a single Schottky diode chip providing a maximum current specification of 200mA and a low maximum forward voltage drop of 0.5V at 200mA. A standard 200mA Schottky diode normally specifies a maximum VF value of 1.0 volt or greater. Central Semiconductor’s EED™ Schottky diodes typically have forward voltage drops of at least 50% less than non-EED™ diodes.
The SUPERmini™ CMDSH2-4L packaged in the SOD-323 surface mount package offers a nominal profile under 1.0 mm. If an even lower profile is required, the ULTRAmini™ CMOSH2-4L in the SOD-523, or the ULTRAmini™ CMUSH2-4L in the SOT-523, both feature a profile under 0.8mm.
All these devices are ideal for portable electronics where energy efficiency for longer battery life is
a necessity.
These devices are available Bulk Packed or 3,000 pcs on a 7” Tape & Reel. Prices for the CMDSH2-4L start at $0.14 each for 3,000 pcs on a 7” reel. Prices for the CMOSH2-4L and CMUSH2-4L start at $0.16 each for 3,000 pcs on a 7” reel. Sample devices are available upon request.Central Semiconductor manufactures leading edge discrete semiconductors and is always eager to explore design engineers' requests or special requirements.
