This position is responsible for the development, growth, and maintenance of the customer base and sales results in a designated territory. The majority of duties are performed at Central’s Hauppauge, NY headquarters.
• Designs in Central's discrete semiconductor products with end customers in an assigned territory.
• Works with end customers to solve their design challenges by recommending Central's products.
• Contacts existing and prospective end customers by telephone to maintain and grow sales.
• Develops and qualifies sales leads.
• Develops territory penetration plans in conjunction with Sales & Marketing Managers.
• Works with independent field representatives to deepen penetration at existing accounts and to develop new account engagements.
• Provides technical new product training for reps.
• Monitors and guides activities of reps by analyzing input received and other feedback including monthly reports.
• Visits customers in assigned territory to maintain and grow sales (required travel up to 15%).
• Represents Central at Trade Shows.
• Answers customers' product inquiries by quoting price and delivery.
• Processes customers' purchase orders and requests for samples, literature, and promotional items.
• Acts as a liaison between customers and Engineering, Quality, and other departments, to quickly resolve customers' technical product and other issues.
Required
• BSEE or BSET degree AND
• Minimum of 18 months of inside technical sales experience OR
• Minimum of 3 years of customer service or general sales experience OR
• BSEE or BSET with an equivalent combination of sales experience.
Preferred
• Inside sales experience in the semiconductor industry
• Experience with discrete semiconductors or electronic components
• 18+ months of inside technical sales experience OR 3+ years of customer service or general sales experience
• Experience with ISO9001:2008.
